Function

Transcutaneous Jaundice Detector is a handheld device used in the dynamic clinical examination 

of neonate jaundice. The transcutaneous bilirubin concentration which is correlative with serum bilirubin 

concentration can be measured instantly and non-invasively when the detector is placed on the neonatal skin. Combining electronics, optics and information 

processing technology, MBJ20 achieves many features: accurate, safe and fast detection, light weight, 

long life, low energy consumption, easy to use and maintain.

In order to prevent neonatal nuclear jaundice, it is very important to diagnose pathological jaundice as early as possible.

 

The concentration of transcutaneous bilirubin can be tested instantly and non-invasively by placing the probe on the neonatal forehead or sternum and pressing gently. It is suitable for neonatal 

jaundice screening. Though transcutaneous bilirubin is a very close correlation with the serum bilirubin concentration, 

there will be some difference between the measurement value and serum bilirubin concentration in the conditions 

noted below.
